GENERAL SUMMARY:

Laureate's business growth is driving ambitious plans for renovations and expansions of IT infrastructure, applications and system integration technologies worldwide. The company growth strategy is based in organic and acquisition growth which requires effective and prompt evaluation and integration of new businesses. This role helps to understand, analyze and coordinate the execution of projects in international locations. This IT leader will function as an integral member of Laureate Network Products and Services (LNPS), a division in charge of deploying value added services to a university network composed of 60+ institutions in 30+ countries. He/she will report directly to the Executive Director, LNPS. The Technology Manager will also work closely and collaboratively with the team reporting into the Corporate Technology and Laureate Global Products and Services (LGPS) Technology departments.

The Technology Manager is responsible for analyzing and coordinating IT activities for the business unit/LNPS. Participates in overall business technology planning and understands the enterprise's core IT competencies and the value they bring to business processes for a competitive advantage. This role will leverage the enterprise's core technology capabilities and platforms for the benefit of the business unit acting as a liaison between the BU's management team and the central IT Organization. Will work with the BU's management team to determine long term information needs for the unit and participates in the development of an enterprise-wide strategy for systems development and infrastructure acquisition and deployment. This IT leadership role will be responsible for the analysis, and documentation of technology related requirements. In this capacity, the Technology Manager is responsible for identifying business need, scoping and documenting technology work, communicating with management team, customers and development team, and assisting with the management of these projects from inception through completion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This person will be responsible for ensuring all LNPS applications run at the adequate service levels in support of the BU service delivery plan. He /she is also responsible for maintaining consistency between all IT resources assigned to the business unit and will coordinate their activities to ensure they meet the goals of the business unit.

Individual will serve as a liaison to the LGPS and Corporate technology offices.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
An undergraduate degree, ideally in computer science, engineering or mathematics is required. A graduate degree, while not required, is helpful.
