Our academic medical center's collegial, caring team is united by our core values of respect, service and quality.This position is responsible for managing the Temple University Hospital (TUH) laboratory systems for TUH, TUH-EC (Temple University Hospital, Episcopal Campus) and TUH-NEC (Temple University Hospital, Northeastern Campus). These systems include the Meditech LIS (Laboratory Information System-LIS) which includes the laboratory, microbiology, anatomical pathology and blood bank modules, HLA HistoTrac, Voicebrook for pathology reporting, Telcor for point of care glucose testing, RapidCom for blood gas analyzers, Remisol for chemistry analyzers and other databases/systems used by the lab department.
The Meditech LIS interfaces with Siemens for ADT and technical charges; TDS, Epic, ED/Medhost and Quest for orders and results; Transplantation/OTTR, Oncology/Mosaiq, Infection control/Vecna, Case management/Midas for results and CodeRyte for professional billing.
Duties will include:
· Managing the lab computer system, its programming, and the analytical staff.
· Maintain the lab information system with an expectation that a new LIS system will be selected and implemented.
· Be a liaison with other LIS/HIS systems throughout Temple University as well as vendors.
Requirements:
· A Bachelors Degree in computer science, health care or related field (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
· A minimum eight years of relevant work experience in lab system management of a production environment in a hospital, preferably a comparably sized one (600+ bed academic medical center, Level I Trauma).
· Health care information technology management strongly preferred.
· Knowledge of Meditech lab. Knowledge of other applications such as Siemens, Eclipsys and Epic preferred.
· Supervisory and project management experience.
