Manager, Learning Resource Ctr

Job Description The Manager of the Learning Resource Center (LRC) is a leadership position in the division of Patient Care Services and is responsible for the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation all central education functions. Reporting to the Executive Director of Professional Practice and Patient Education Services, responsibilities include: providing program planning and management for nursing orientation; professional continuing education; preceptor development and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) programs; school of nursing affiliations and clinical placements; integrating Health Stream computer-based training and Simulation into department strategic education initiatives; and serve as Training Center coordinator for NSMC?s American Heart Association training programs. As a member of the Department of Professional Practice and Patient Education Services, the incumbent possesses progressive experience as a nurse educator and leader with demonstrated expertise and experience in developing and implementing learning needs assessments; providing formal and informal education and training, managing nursing orientation programs; integrating computer based learning and simulation into nursing and nursing aide education programs; developing and managing nursing continuing education (CEU) and in-service programs; running Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support programs; and working with clinical instructors from schools of nursing programs. Qualifications SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Demonstrated leadership abilities; Demonstrated teaching skills, leadership skills, and skills in critical thinking; Knowledge of human resource management, program development, fiscal management skills, and familiarity with regulatory and accrediting agency standards; Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with all levels of individuals; Ability to objectively appraise and analyze information and situations; Ability to identify needed changes in process or direction; Ability to make informed, sound decisions, and develops innovative, but practical, solutions. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 5 years of management and/or nursing education experience EDUCATION REQUIRED: Masters degree in Nursing, or Bachelors degree in Nursing with a Masters degree in related health field required LICENSES, CERTIFICATION and/or REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Current RN license in state of Massachusetts
