About the role
We are seeking a Manager to join our Legal Entity Control team assisting in monitoring and training of LEC policies and processes. The team performs the Legal Entity Control (LEC) role for all Group entities in Australia, with limited exceptions. The team has full end to end responsibility for the financial affairs of the legal entities including monthly review and commentary, fulfilment of statutory and regulatory compliance obligations, capital requirements and payments of dividends. In this role you will be the legal entity controller responsibilities for a number Australian Group entities.
Core responsibilities include:
- Provision of LEC support and guidance to team members
- Statutory financial reporting, including liaison with external auditors
- Co-ordination of monthly timetable and review of team responsibilities
- Managing ad-hoc reporting queries
- Team development and staff management
- Responsible for review of deliverables from the shared service centre
- Ensuring integrity and completeness of financial records, and ensuring compliance with LEC policies and finance control standards
- Responsible for providing decision support to BU's on new business/entities
- Consultation and engagement with key stakeholders, including Business Unit Finance and GFS
About you:
To be successful, you will have a background in a Big 4 Audit firm and/or a Finance role in banking. You will also have:
- CA Qualification
- Strong Consolidation knowledge and experience
- Strong system skills and ability to understand the structure of the ledger and extract data from the ledger
- Experience and understanding of the investment banking and/or a trading business would be very useful
- Good technical knowledge - an ability to provide technical advice and present on complex accounting issues to support the business unit accountants or Group Finance
- Ability to manage and develop relationships across a range of internal clients including Entity Directors and BU Finance staff
- Effective management of information flows upwards and downwards
- Ability to work in a virtual global team, and manage cross-border relationships effectively
- Staff management experience
- Previous experience of legal entity control in a large group environment an advantage
