An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced, self-motivated senior lawyer to move into an in-house government role to fill a maternity leave position. This management role would suit a lawyer with approximately 6 years experience providing legal advice, drafting legal documents and managing a team.
The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) is an independent body that oversees regulation in the water, gas, electricity and public transport industries in NSW. IPART also conducts reviews of significant policy issues, providing advice and recommendations to government. IPART is the Scheme Administrator of the NSW Greenhouse Gas Reduction Scheme and the Energy Savings Scheme, and also has various licensing functions and a new role in local government. The small and dynamic legal team strives to provide high quality, client focussed advice across all of IPART’s functions.
The successful applicant will require excellent legal, communication and management skills and experience providing high quality, commercially relevant legal advice. This role provides an opportunity to manage interesting and complex legal issues as they intersect with policy development. The successful applicant will be a leader and mentor to the lawyers in the team and provide assistance to the general counsel. Salary package full-time: $170,311p.a. (Salary $147,852 - $154,337) includes employer's contribution to superannuation and leave loading.
