Risk Management - Seattle Division

The Seattle Division's Risk Management Department, located in Bellevue, WA, has an opening for a Loss Control Manager I (Safety and Environmental Affairs Manager).

Qualifications:
• 4 year college degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5-8 years experience in safety and accident prevention for a multi-location company.
• Strong technical knowledge of safety programs.
• Strong technical knowledge of applicable safety and environmental affairs regulations.
• Strong experience in developing, leading, implementing and managing risk control programs.
• Strong influencing, leadership and change management skills designed to affect behavioral change within the entire organization.
• Proven financial and claims analysis experience.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with all levels of the retail organization from division leadership to store staff.
• Strong management skills with past experience in a lead/supervisory role.
• Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills to manage and execute safety projects throughout the division.
• Strong ability to communicate programs effectively within all levels of management and get the buy in from retail stakeholders throughout the organization.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient PC skills in Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
• Retail store experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Develop, co-manage and implement safety programs in compliance with Corporate policies, philosophies and goals for retail operations.   This position will focus on reducing the company’s liability exposure by improving safety procedures and processes to reduce frequency and severity of claims (human element and environmental).
• Effectively execute Culture of Safety programs for retail operations with a focus on influencing behaviors.
• Influence and partner with division management and retail leadership to adopt and implement effective safety programs.  Monitor progress of the programs and resolve any issues in order to ensure program success.
• Co-manage OSHA compliance programs and serve as key liaison with local OSHA regulators to mitigate citations and fines.  Participate in regional/national safety forums to enhance company knowledge of safety processes and new regulations.
• Co-manage all environmental affairs programs and compliance issues for retail operations across division and be the first line of response to environmental hazards issues.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs for the division.  Compile and maintain division-wide documentation of safety standards and procedures; communication to and coordination with appropriate operational areas.
• Co-manage, lead, coach and develop safety professional staff.
• Design systems and metrics to identify factors that present opportunities for improvement in safety.
• Partner with the Workers' Compensation and Casualty Claims sections in related risk management matters.
• Design and provide ad-hoc loss reports for risk and division management utilization.
• Assist the Workers' Compensation, Casualty Claims, and EHS sections in related risk management matters.

Salary:  Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
