Summary:
As Manager, Manufacturing Analytics, you will be responsible for tracking and analyzing trends for Vistaprint's global manufacturing operations. You will work closely with the Engineering, Manufacturing and Financial Teams, applying strong analytical skills to add definition to problems and solutions. Types of detailed analyses will include but are not limited to labor forecasting, plant expansion, scheduling optimization, capacity planning, productivity and quality metrics. You will work on both independent projects and on cross-functional teams. In each case, you will need to take responsibility for ensuring that results are effectively disseminated. The ideal candidate will understand the information that is generated from the reporting function and how to use that information for future purposes.
Responsibilities:
- Specify, monitor and evolve key performance indicators (KPIs) for manufacturing
- Work closely with the manufacturing/engineering teams to understand business needs.
- Translate business needs into detailed requirements.
- Extract appropriate information from rich data sources, analyze results and present findings and recommendations
- Perform exploratory data analysis with a globally distributed engineering team
- Become the go-to expert in use of company databases for manufacturing analytics
- Define required metrics and dimensions
- Work with engineering to improve relevant data collection
- Must grow professional and technical skills at a fast pace
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years' professional experience in applicable disciplines.
- Bachelor's degree required (Operations Research, Engineering, Mathematics, etc.)
- Masters degree a strong plus
- Strong knowledge of SQL
- Strong leadership skills
- Knowledgeable in Excel (pivot tables, macros)
- Strong understanding of statistical inference
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Confidence communicating openly with stakeholders in a growing global organization
- Intense curiosity, ability to learn quickly and apply new tools and techniques
- Passion to identify and define problems/solutions
- Work with business owners to improve performance
- Integrity, attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to manage projects
- Ability to multi-task and excellent problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with OLAP, SAS, SPSS and other statistical packages
- Familiarity with industrial engineering
- Knowledge in TQM, SPC, Six-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing
- Occasional travel (approximately 10%) to global manufacturing facilities
