This role will be within the team responsible for Market Risk Oversight of the Rates, Credit Equities businesses of WB Global Markets. Your responsibilities will include but not be restricted to the following:
- Reviewing daily trading activity of Rates, Credit Equities trading books to identify significant trades, changes in exposure, off market or unusual transactions.
- Tie PL outcomes to the risk being run in the book and market movements and analyse PL trends to ensure consistency between risk and PL.
- Exercising delegated authority to determine market risk limit frameworks and amounts appropriate to the agreed risk appetite and mandate for the individual desks.
- Reviewing and analysing the trading desks' risk sensitivities, exposures ensuring consistency of these with trading activity.
- Analysing VaR, Stress Test and other risk measures; reporting on trends and the key risks identified. Investigate anomalous results and significant movements.
- Conducting intra-day oversight of trading activity ? monitoring significant new trades and changes in position from the prior day's close.
- Supporting Senior Managers in preparing daily oversight commentaries, desk reviews and other reports and analysis for both internal and external stakeholders.
- ? Investigating limit and trading authority breaches and near-misses and instigate corrective action according to policy
To be suitable for this role you will need tertiary qualifications, preferably in Economics, Finance, Maths or a related field, alternatively, a strong degree with a CFA, PRMIA, GARP or relevant Masters Degree. You should have 5 years experience within a trading or front office facing market risk role. You will have strong communication skills and the ability to maintain strong working relationships across a broad range of areas within the bank. You will also have the ability to support the regional risk teams globally in moving towards best practice.
