Manager, Mergers and Acquisitions – Insights recruitment
The newly-created role is part of a high-profile multidisciplinary team within the Firm that is specifically being established to identify MA transaction opportunities, develop strategic insights on MA issues and drive insight-led client relationships. MA has been identified a key area for growth and the role will attract strong interest and direct engagement from senior figures within the Firm.
You will draw on your range of qualitative and quantitative skills to proactively scan the market for signs of MA deals across priority industries, identify and analyse opportunities and produce evidence-based high quality and compelling insights that will be used to initiate conversations with clients.
You will work alongside outstanding people and recognised leaders in their area of expertise to maximise the impact of the Firm's research in the marketplace, build eminence amongst clients and industry stakeholders, and commercialise Firm-wide perspectives on major MA issues. A self-starter, you will combine analytical rigour with communications flair to develop your reputation and expertise within the Firm and in the public domain. This role has a strong cross-industry focus, however experience in Financial Sector Industry or Consumer Business would prove to be advantageous.
Requirements
With a background in MA analysis ideally with Equity Research /Investment Banking MA Advisory / Corporate Finance or Strategy Consulting, this candidate would also have the following skills and experience:
- Ability to identify and connect macro-economic and industry shaping events with drivers of MA and provide accurate market judgement to stakeholders
- Ability to perform financial analysis, strategic business analysis and detailed industry research
- Familiarity with strategy frameworks, forecasting methods, financial modelling and valuation techniques
- Excellent written skills and ability to conduct extensive business research to produce lucid and high quality thought leadership
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and with the confidence to conduct senior executive interviews and support client pitches
- Ability to form effective working relationships with multiple internal stakeholders and manage their expectations in high-pressure situations
- Line management skills and experience, preferably managing virtual teams across geographies.
- Familiarity with financial data software such as TFS, MergerMarket and Bloomberg and analytical techniques used in the City
- Graduate degree in accounting, finance or economics desirable. CFA part qualifications will be viewed favourably.
