Currently Peabody Energy has a vacancy for an experienced Manager Metallurgical Coal Logistics in our Brisbane office. Reporting to General Manager Marketing and Logistics you will be responsible for all logistics of Metallurgical Coal from all Peabody Bowen Basin mines and the Metropolitan mine in the Illawarra. You will oversee stockpile control, train planning, coal blending/coal quality, shipment acceptance and subsequent planning (including sales forecasting). You will also ensure the accuracy of all shipment documentation including Letters of credit and despatch/demurrage and all associated sales forecasting.
To be successful in this position you will possess relevant tertiary qualifications and have a comprehensive knowledge of the bulk shipping industry, experience and understanding of all normal practices, legal requirements, Inco Terms, etc. You will have an in-depth knowledge of bulk commodity international payment terms, especially letters of credits / promissory notes etc. You will have significant experience in the bulk shipping industry and have a solid understanding of Metallurgical Coal quality and/or understanding of the Steel Industry. Experience with SAP an advantage.
