Manager Network Systems Applications, Federal Systems Division (Alexandria, VA)
Summary:
Responsible for developing comprehensive applications solutions, estimations, implementation and support of LAN/Wan based video surveillance and security systems for National Accounts opportunities, as well as, providing technical/sales support to field organization for large and/or integrated network systems. Acts in a lead technical and coordination capacity for other System Applications Managers in the support of multi-region National Accounts sales opportunities and project implementations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for server setup, network configuration and application deployment.
- Acts as On-site and remote support for customer network and software
- Responsible for engineering, configuration, installation, maintenance and support of data/video communication networks
- Develop prototype and project implementation plans.
- Develop and provide training and technical support tools for users with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence
- Planning and implementation of future Network developments and related project work
- Construct and maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams and related systems. Create detailed networked server documentation, including physical diagrams, logical diagrams, IP address schemes and asset management and database designs.
- Manage and deploy security related technologies, including firewalls, VPN's, access lists, intrusion detection systems, setting up user accounts, permissions and passwords.
- Responsible for architecture of customer solutions including designing IP video and related solutions
- Participate in technical design reviews and recommend solutions and improvements.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science is preferred.
Certifications:
- VMware VCP 4 or VCP 5 required
- MCSE Certification preferred
- Cisco Certification (CCNA or higher) preferred
Experience:
- Minimum three (3) years experience with Microsoft Windows Server and related technologies including Active Directory and Group Policies.
- Demonstrated knowledge and working experience with VMware Technologies.
- Good working knowledge and experience with RAID disk technologies including regular Dell storage arrays and EqualLogic SAN devices.
- Knowledge and understanding of network applications, web server, and database server.
- Experience with LAN/WAN based video surveillance and security systems preferred
- Minimum three (3) years experience in LAN/WAN network engineering using Cisco products including Layer 2/3 Switches and Routers
- Experience with and solid working understanding of Cisco switches, routers, IOS software and diagnostics
- Good working knowledge of required technical hardware such as Cisco Routers, CSU, DSU, bridges, multiplexers, servers and switches; knowledge of building, configuring and trouble shooting campus networks and remote access networks using Cisco Catalyst multi-layer switching technologies over high-speed Ethernet and Cisco routers connected to wired and wireless LANs
- Experience with LAN/WAN based video surveillance and security systems preferred.
Skills:
- Client/Server diagnostic support skills to understand how applications communicate within LAN/WAN/MAN networks and over the Internet
- Good understanding of IP Backbone Architecture, TCP/IP protocol
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with internal organization and customer representatives and be a team player at all levels
- Ability to lead/manage teams
- Possess high level of PC literacy.
