Manager, New Product Process Engineering Job in West Lafayette 47906, Indiana US

The Manager of New Product Process Engineering will collaborate with project leaders, RD staff, Manufacturing, functional managers, engineering consultants, and toll producers to plan and execute all process and project engineering aspects of new product development programs including pilot production, manufacturing site selection, process engineering, construction and commissioning.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Working with project managers, RD staff, Manufacturing, EHS and other groups develop project plans to scale up new products through pilot production and      commercial production, including site selection and financial estimates
- Assess and advise on budget and staffing required to execute new product development programs. Manage pilot plant staffing and facilities.
- Identify, evaluate and manage interface with contactors, engineering consultants and toll producers.
- Provide engineering support to new product new business development and MA programs. Specific responsibilities may include equipment evaluation and       design, material and energy balance, scope development, develop/maintain process models.
- Evaluate existing engineering standards and practices and develop updated standards and practices as required for maximum safety, efficiency and  effectiveness.
- Maintain highest priority on safe and responsible operation of Pilot Plant facilities ensure that all procedures are followed for safety management on new process  engineering. Participate in safety/PSM audits, PHRAs.
- With support from site facilities and EHS staff, ensure regulatory compliance for Pilot Plant operations.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Expertise in chemical process evaluation and optimization (design, simulation).
- Expertise in classical chemical engineering disciplines (fluid flow, heat exchange, separation, material / energy balancing, PSM / PHRA audits).
- Expertise in project management (including cost estimating / scheduling)
- Able to analyze and communicate financial impact of process design decisions on investment and operations costs.
- Computer literate (office products, process modeling, statistical analysis a plus)
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong, Demonstrated commitment to safety management and environmental stewardship
- EHS process, auditing, equipment design familiarity a plus.
- Working knowledge of new product stage gate methodology
- Familiarity with OSHA, MOC, ISO, LEAN, TQM, Six Sigma, Design for Six Sigma and High Performance Work Teams

Education  Experience:
- Minimum of Bachelors Degree, advanced degree preferred
- 8-10 years total experience
- Minimum 3 years supervisory experience
