Manager of Business Development, National/Military Operating Unit Job in Redondo Beach, California Us

Northrop Grumman Information Systems (NGIS) Ground Systems Business Unit (GSBU) is seeking a proven business development professional for the role of National/Military Operational Unit Business Development Manager (OUBDM). The successful candidates will oversee and direct capture teams within the National/Military Operating Unit of GSBU, using established, proven processes and procedures for identified captures in-line with the Northrop Grumman Business Acquisition Process (BAP). Additional emphasis for the capture role will be placed on coordinating new business pursuits across a broad spectrum of operating units and personnel within the organization, thus the position requires strong coordination, relationship building and integration skills to achieve proper synergies for effective program captures.

Skills:

Strategic thinking and decision making to maximize probability of win; Creative thinking on competitive positioning, win strategy, themes and discriminators; Extensive experience on evaluating and recommending key teammates and partners; Ability to create teaming strategy(ies) to optimize value; A Demonstrated effective and efficient use of capture and proposal resources (BP, IRAD, Capture funds, facilities, demos, overhead); Ability to lead and mentor less experienced Capture and Proposal Managers in successful captures.

Basic Qualifications:

* Candidates should have a BS degree in either engineering or similar technical field

* Minimum of Fifteen years of DoD and Intelligence Community program management and/or capture management responsibilities with having successfully led at least one major capture opportunity.

* Candidates should possess full knowledge of the federal procurement cycle as well as a strong, proven capability to apply process-driven capture approaches throughout the BAP processes.

* Strong communication, negotiation, organizational and interpersonal skills.

* Minimum security clearance: TS/SCI CI Polygraph.

* Exceptional presentation skills

* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

* A result driven attitude and a proven capability of working in a collaborative environment across distributed locations and organizations.

* Familiarity and contacts with the National/Military major customers is a plus

* Preferred location is Southern California; however, the position could be in Denver, Colorado or Northern Virginia
