Area Overview:
The Technology Services Group (TSG) is responsible for the strategic planning and provisioning of technology services to the largest reserve bank in the Federal Reserve System. These include applications development, data architecture, network, communications and data center infrastructure and operations, project management, technology vendor management, and overall information technology and information security. The group also provides national information security, incident response, national remote access and enterprise search services for the Federal Reserve System.
A leadership opportunity exists in our Data Architecture Information Management function to manage the Data Architecture and Information Management team. This team resides in the Applications Development Function of the Technology Services Group and provides data architecture and information management services to project teams on solutions that scale from small departmental applications to very large mission critical applications. The leader of this team must be able to drive tactical work including defining, initiating and delivering a set of technology-oriented data-management services including (but not limited to) data masking, extract transform load (ETL), data movement, data quality, business intelligence (BI), data architecture as well as become the strategic advisor to Federal Reserve Bank of New York management on enterprise data initiatives.
The selected candidate will:
- Define and implement Enterprise Data Management services from a technology perspective while understanding the business drivers.
- Spearhead expansion of team to design critical, high end applications.
- Create a project roadmap and identify synergies to reduce time and cost.
- Utilize application architecture skills to assist in strategic planning and technical data design activities while driving business priorities.
- Provide leadership to Federal Reserve System discussions across a variety of critical business applications.
Skills
Required Skills:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience with enterprise data management including experience implementing enterprise level and mission critical software applications.
- Proven leadership skills including the ability to work in a complex, cross functional team environment and to partner with multiple groups and handle competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead high performing team of data management professionals.
- Understanding of critical data management concepts, including Master data Management; Meta Data Management; Data Architecture, Data Administration, Data Quality, Data Security and Access Rights.
- Skilled with distributed systems architecture and associated data architecture.
- Extensive experience with legacy application modernization projects.
- Relational Database technology (Oracle preferred) and SQL.
- Experience with data modeling tool and software development lifecycle practices including Agile.
- Ability to think outside of the box; generate ideas and execute.
- Superior written, verbal and personal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze, understand, and communicate to others technical data, specifications, designs, etc., at all levels.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science.
