Manager of Investigations recruitment
American International Group, Inc. (AIG) has a great opportunity for a Manager of Investigations within the Internal Audit Division. The current position focuses on managing investigations of allegations of employee or agent misconduct, financial irregularities, auditing and internal control issues for the Chartis Latin America Region. The investigative work may require minimal travel, depending on the location of the conduct at issue. The Manager of Investigations will have the following key competencies and/or job responsibilities:
* Plan, lead and execute investigations and special reviews with a moderate level supervision (relevant to the years of experience) for matters relating primarily to Chartis Latin America Region.
* Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage a team of investigators, provide honest and constructive feedback, and coach team members to enhance their career development.
* Possess knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, financial and operational controls, as well as an understanding of internal auditing standards, COSO and risk-assessment practices.
* Understand how key risks and controls impact the business from an operational, accounting and/or systems perspective, and document client processes, procedures, and control environment.
* Identify internal control deficiencies as well as opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness, and communicate these results in written reports.
* Possess strong analytical skills to identify audit risks, fraud risks, investigative concerns and appropriate testing or investigative procedures.
* Draft reports detailing work performed and conclusions reached that require minimal editing and provide a clear message to ensure client understanding and suggestion for corrective action.
* Perform fraud risk assessments in conjunction with audit planning, and periodic monitoring of operational or financial data to recognize patterns and trends and be able to identify and discuss risk and control implications.
* Present fraud awareness training to corporate and business colleagues.
* Assist with the preparation of quarterly reporting to Senior Management and the Audit Committee.
* Fundamental knowledge of forensic software applications and other utilities to collect, process, review and analyze electronic evidence.
* Strong organizational skills and proven ability to effectively prioritize initiatives to meet expectations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required with the ability to present complex and sensitive issues to all levels of senior management.
* Establish effective working relationships with clients and colleagues.
* Ability to concurrently work on multiple projects, participate in assignments in a team environment, and consistently meets deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability to maintain the confidentiality of information and identities.

* 5+ years of relevant accounting experience (private or public), financial investigative experience, or insurance experience.
* B.S. / B.A. degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA designation strongly preferred.
* A graduate degree or JD is a plus.
* Proficiency in Spanish is required.
* Knowledge of Portuguese a plus.
* Certification such as CIA / CFSA / CISA / CFE is a plus.
* Superior Microsoft Office skills: Excel, Word, Access PowerPoint.
