We have an immediate opening for an experienced Manager of IT Program and Project Management, as part of the UHG-IT Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) based in our Minnetonka, MN or in Hartford, CT offices.
This position will be engaged in leading a broad range of Information System projects within the Healthcare domain. Projects will encompass a broad range of financial, payment, financial product and other systems within enterprise programs that may run across multiple business lines and the full array of UHG systems.
Budget accountability may span $5M to $10M per year with Programs that deliver over 1-3 years. The incumbent will supervise 3 to 6 program and project managers while having direct hands-on accountability for a portfolio of their own projects. The Manager of IT Program and Project Management is also expected to build trust-based relationships with business and IT stakeholders and drive the development of their staff.
Requirements:
• 7+ years overall IT Project Management (and/or Program Management) experience in a large enterprise environment (Fortune 500 companies preferred)
• 7+ years technical experience in one or more aspects of Information Systems Development
• 5+ years managing projects within an SDLC leading to the development or enhancement of proprietary, in-house developed software. (Hardware, Infrastructure, production support, and packaged software oriented projects excluded.)
• 3+ years of experience directly supervising professional level people
• 2+ years of experience either in the healthcare industry or 2+ years working as a Program/Project manager with a Financial Systems scope for a Fortune 100 company.
• 5+ years budget accountability, tracking and complex cost benefit analysis experience
• Professional PM Methodology training
• Strong understanding of both distributed and mainframe technologies architecture
• Proven ability to build and manage relationships across a large enterprise
• Proven ability to influence senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to understand the 'bigger picture' of a program and its business and technology impacts.
• Solid analytical, problem-solving and financial analysis skills.
• Proficiency in MSWord, Project, Power Point, and Excel.
• Bachelors degree required or equivalent experience a post-graduate degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience desired
Assets:
• Experience managing project managers.
• PMP certification
