Position Description:
To facilitate the implementation and evaluation of perinatal initiatives, including quality improvement programs, and the development of cross-functional healthcare partnerships. Assess chapter-based perinatal initiatives and specifically quality improvement activities to ensure that needs are being met; evaluate MOD’s resources and support of the programs, and to intervene as necessary to ensure overall success.

Position Responsibilities:
Oversee the effectiveness of Foundation wide Quality Improvement (QI) Programs, specifically the • Build processes to ensure success of March of Dimes Quality Improvement Programs. Create and maintain interface between hospitals and March of Dimes as it relates to Quality Improvement program support to optimize improved outcomes for moms and babies.
• Work with March of Dimes Regional Managers of Quality Improvement Programs and Hospital QI Staff, as needed, to conduct needs assessments and thereby ensure that all tools and materials are created and deployed to ensure QI program efficiencies and success, and that program is meeting the needs and requirements of partner hospital QI initiatives. Intervene with appropriate corrective action, as necessary.
• Determine appropriate QI service package/product set for hospitals, and provide guidance to Regional Managers of QI Programs, as necessary.
• Ensure that Regional Managers of QI Programs possess the tools and expertise necessary to effectively engage hospital partners in regard to March of Dimes-supported perinatal quality improvement programs.
• Review ongoing metrics, including monthly and quarterly reports, to evaluate programs and assess goals as it relates to QI initiatives. Assess the effectiveness of the programs Foundation-wide.
• Lead monthly teleconferences for chapters to discuss any aspects of the
implementation process.
• Manage QI data portal ( in partnership with Perinatal Data Center)
• Manage expert Blogs and monthly “Office Hours”

Manage and oversee all QI initiatives, including development, by providing internal and external support.
• After hospitals are enrolled in the initiative, triage questions from the field/hospitals
regarding high-level quality matters, and determine optimal source for response (e.g., expert consultation, data analysis, technical assistance, etc.)
• Disseminate information on March of Dimes QI programs to national, regional as well as chapter staff and volunteers.
• Disseminate information on March of Dimes QI programs to external partners, including hospitals, payers, and other perinatal health care stakeholders.

Participate in the creation and production of education and marketing materials for March of Dimes QI programs.

Train regional and chapter staff and volunteers on March of Dimes QI programs and materials.

Position Requirements:
• BA degree plus 5 to 7 years work-related experience required.
• Demonstrated and proven experience in quality improvement programming desired (perinatal focus preferred).
• Work experience in a healthcare setting or experience working with healthcare providers desired (perinatal setting preferred).
• Knowledge of maternal/child health issues preferred.
• Expertise in the use of QI processes, such as Plan-Do-Study-Act, MAP-IT, or other models, strategic planning, data driven report development and analysis.
• Expertise and experience in Quality improvement, including methodologies, implementation and evaluation.
• Knowledge of hospital accreditation and certification standards.
• Must possess strong project management experience.
• Strong accountability, analytical, organization, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
• Excellent group facilitation and technical assistance delivery.
• Able to maintain integrity while managing multiple projects and meet internal and externally imposed deadlines.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed (40%).
• Knowledge of and working experience of Microsoft Office.
