The Manager Web Services manages a team of technical professionals responsible for developing, testing, and implementing N-Tier Web applications and modified applications using MS technology utilizing ASP.Net in a .NET environment. This position is a hands-on Manager, who as part of a small team, is also responsible for developing and maintaining Cooper Bussmann web sites and web-enabled applications. The Manager Web Services will interface directly with internal and external business customers to gather and document business and system requirements and translate them into application and operational requirements.
- Manage technical team responsible for support of Internet, Intranet, and web-enabled applications
- Assign tasks to IT resources, helping them plan, organize and execute related tasks
- Provide constructive feedback to assigned team members on the performance of their work assignments.
- Support, maintain, and resolve issues for development and production Internet and Intranet websites
- Develop and implement enhancements to our Internet and Intranet web sites
- Performance tuning and optimizing the web site applications to ensure maximum availability, performance, and security
- Interface with business customers to gather and document business and system requirements
- Update content under direction of business champions
- Create analysis and design documents
- Participate in architecture design, development planning, and code reviews
- Design and develop new web sites or web site enhancements in the support of the business operations and electronic commerce
- Support team development environment, toolset recommendations, technology roadmap.
- Periodically coordinate efforts of onsite and offsite contract developers
- Ensure the smooth integration and / or rollout of systems into the operational environment by coordinating closely with the affected functional areas
- Ensure changes to the computing environment are properly controlled through proper testing, communications, staging and implementation
- Communicate to the users any changes or production issues that effect functional or performance standards
- Act as technical consultant to internal personnel
- 4 year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field is required (Masters preferred)
- 2 plus years of experience managing direct reports (not just managing projects)
- 4 plus years of experience designing and developing Internet web-sites, services and web-enabled applications
- 3 plus years of project management experience is required
- 4 plus years of development in ASP.NET with VB.NET, IIS 5.5, Visual Basic, Object oriented design, N-Tier Application development, RDBMS - MS SQL Server, DTS, Stored Procs and Triggers, Javascript, HTML, CSS, XML, SMTP, CDO
- Previous experience in manufacturing industries is required
- Candidate must possess a customer focus, solid interpersonal and presentation skills, strong leadership skills, excellent organizational and project management skills, business analysis capabilities and relationship management skills; English language skills are required. Additional languages are an asset; strong knowledge of PowerPoint, Word and Excel is required
