Manager Operational Effectiveness and Assurance IT recruitment
This is a challenging and rewarding role within the Core Operational Risk business unit that strives to achieve Westpac's values and business objectives within an effective risk management framework. The role provides an excellent opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of the Westpac New Zealand business and to build on a successful career within the Bank.
Key Deliverables:
- Monitoring and challenging the effectiveness of operational risk management practices across WNZL
- Providing a 2nd Line opinion on the overall effectiveness of WNZL’s operational control environment (including Sarbanes-Oxley)
- Delivering relevant operational risk training, education and awareness material
- Applying cross-Group and external / industry perspective to provide insights into potential risk and compliance issues / impacts
- Providing an independent assessment of and assurance over the risks inherent in material change initiatives (e.g. key business projects, process changes, implementation of new infrastructure, product launches)
We are looking for the following qualifications and skills:
- Work experience of 3+ years within the financial services industry, preferably with a portion of that experience in operational risk, operations, audit or other relevant discipline
- Experience in performing business process reviews and/or control assessments (including Sarbanes Oxley)
- Ability to interpret and analyse complex, sometimes conflicting information and issues
- Solid interpersonal skills (partnering, networking and influencing)
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders
A tertiary qualification in a related discipline such as Business, Finance or Accounting is preferred along with good communication and planning skills. You should be able to operate independently and have a strong sense of integrity as well as a professional approach to deadlines and deliverables.
