Manager, Private Equity recruitment
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Investment Analysis
• Participate in due diligence of PE investments - identify key investment merits and risks and work in conjunction with third party consultants if required.
• Preliminary analysis of PE investment opportunities
• Build, review and analyze financial models, including performing extensive sensitivity analyses, review of financial projections and valuation assumptions.
• Participate in the preparation of investment recommendation memorandums for investment approval
• Assist in managing team of analysts and transaction deliverables.
• Supervise monitoring portfolio investments.
2. Conducting Transactions
• Help develop relationships and with investment professionals of selected PE firms and institutional investors.
• Coordinate preparation of investment recommendation memorandums for approval.
• Interface with Legal and Taxation groups in the review of proposed investment structures and closing of transactions.
• Participate in the presentation of investment proposals.
• Actively participate in the review and decision process of investment opportunities.
3. Monitoring and Administration of Investments
• Review PE investment monitoring reports from external sources.
• Prepare periodic reports and undertake various analyses on portfolio status and performance with assigned responsibility to specific investments.
• Coordinate analysts’ monitoring functions and appropriate tracking in PE systems.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Business or comparable university degree with high academic standards
• Professional designation: CA or MBA. CFA, an asset
• 5 - 7 years’ experience in PE, investment banking or management consulting
• Exposure to MA, investment analysis and deal structuring is an asset
• Project management skills and able to meet deadlines
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to demonstrate leadership and build sound business relationships
• Mature, driven, motivated and able to work autonomously in a team investment environment
• Responsible, diligent and able to work independently and as part of a team
• Good attention to detail and presentation of information
• Excellent financial and accounting analytical skills
• Bilingualism (English and French)
