About the Job The Manager of Private Label Sourcing is responsible for overseeing the expansion of KeHE's proprietary brand portfolio. The position will have day to day oversight responsibility for product concept screening, co-packer review and selection, on-going vendor management, and associated cost management. This position will work closely with the Manager, Private Label Development, who has responsibility for sales of KeHE's own-brand portfolio to retailers in all of KeHE's served segments, and with KeHE's Director of Marketing who has responsibility for all graphic design, labeling and other creative elements associated with our own brand portfolio. Position Accountabilities Lead KeHE's own brand portfolio expansion, including: market research and opportunity assessment, concept screening and project selection, product formulation, co-packer manufacturing, and concept profitability. Identify and screen potential new suppliers/co-packers and thereby assemble a stable of creative, cost effective and highly reliable partners; manage these business partners on an on-going basis Interact with the Director of Marketing as appropriate in the finalization of graphic elements related to KeHE brands (artwork, packaging graphics, and sales collateral) Receive price change communications from co-packers, evaluate and challenge using market cost data, and insure KeHE costs remain highly competitive Approve production and inventory levels as needed. Manage product recall activities as/if these occur. Monitor competitor activities and recommend paths forward to address these activities. Generate, track, and report branded sales reports. Evaluate financial impact for brand inventory levels and propose corrective actions as needed. Monitor credits and account receivables. Assist with annual organic certification audit on corporate managed brands. Communicate with all departments and organizational levels regarding sales and operations. Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends. Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%. Assure that established company policies and procedures are followed in achieving the above accountabilities.
