The Opportunity
CWFC’s Electro-Mechanical Division is searching for a Manager of Quality Assurance Engineering to be based in Cheswick, PA with a minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent with 10+years of related experience. EMD has a long-standing and distinguished reputation for the development, design, manufacture and qualification of critical-function, electro-magnetic machine solutions for the U.S. Navy and the commercial nuclear utility industry. Our historic accomplishments as a supplier of critical pumps, generators, motors and secondary propulsion systems make us uniquely qualified to aggressively tackle new projects and develop highly engineered solutions to meet our customers’ needs and transform their businesses.
Essential Responsibilities
- Plan, control, monitor quality systems which ensure contract quality requirements are met.
- Direct the planning and development of dimensional inspection, documentation procedures, inspection point programs, and sampling plans.
- Review contract and specification requirements and provide assurance that engineering drawings, manufacturing travelers, process specifications satisfy those requirements.
- Deal directly with EMD’s customers, NRC, ANI, and other regulatory bodies in regard to product quality and compliance issues.
- Actively support audits and reconcile audit findings.
- Direct engineering activities that support proposals and negotiations of technical requirements.
- Resolve quality issues
- Conduct quality meetings with customer counterparts
- Qualify and improve quality performance of suppliers
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent required, Masters Degree preferred
- 10 years of related quality experience
- Minimum of 5+ years experience in manufacturing management
- Must have a minimum of 5+years of Leadership/Management experience.
- Must have experience working with the NRC, ANI or other regulatory bodies in regard to quality and compliance issues.
The following experience/qualifications strongly desired:
- Certified Quality Engineer, Quality Auditor, Manager
- Six Sigma Black Belt
- Working knowledge of ASME Code
- Auditor qualifications per NQA-1.
- Experience with 10CFR50, Appendix B and NQA-1 Quality Assurance Programs
- Experience interfacing with customers, regulatory authorities and staff management.
- Knowledge of ASME Sections II, III, V, VIII, IX, XI. Commercial Grade Dedication
- Understanding of nuclear power plant construction and operation
- Certification in quality codes and standards
- Familiarity with Corrective Action Review Boards
- Root cause analysis skills
