GRG is at the leading edge of a wider rescue culture and is a major contributor to the bottom line of the RBS Group. We work closely with stressed trading businesses to restructure their debt and help restore them to health. GRG also has a major role to play in reducing the Group’s non-core property exposures and re-building the strength of the UBG Balance sheet.
Reporting to the Manager Investment Assets (NI and ROI), you will manage and structure the Bank’s economic interests in its UK Commercial Investment assets in conjunction with RM teams to maximise the value it captures and to plan its exit form the book in a manner consistent with the strategic objectives of the business. You will contribute to GRG’s knowledge of the markets for assets, their potential buyers and competitors plans and take appropriate action to ensure Ulster Bank captures value through superior market relationships and pro-activity in line with objectives for the GRG business.
Based in Dublin, you will need to demonstrate:
- Significant restructuring experience in a banking environment, including understanding of practical case management and borrowers issues, with extensive knowledge and creativity in managing these issues
- Minimum of 10 years experience in the ROI and UK markets in the Residential Investment field including successfully acquiring and selling individual investments and portfolio’s
- Chartered Surveyor, Professional property and/or other relevant financial qualification
- Demonstrated track record in understanding markets, identifying buyers, deal origination, structuring and execution
- Proven track record of understanding, assessing, monitoring and controlling risk including an ability to deliver fit-for-purpose structures and strategies
- Extensive knowledge of legal and funding issues in real estate and planning for them in developing asset strategies
- Demonstrated negotiation and inter-personal skills with the ability to establish strong working relationships at a high level both internally and externally
- Ability to lead internal and external teams to achieve successful execution of transactions
- Market understanding of Residential consumer preferences, and strategies to satisfy them in build outs
- Comprehensive business, credit and financial risk analysis skills
