Manager – Risk and Regulatory recruitment
We are looking for individuals within Baringa’s Risk Management and Regulatory Strategy Practice. The Manager role provides considerable challenge, variety and opportunity for development in a client-facing environment. Through the role the candidate will design and deliver solutions to clients in the Financial Services sector to help them gain competitive advantage in a challenging regulatory environment.
Characteristics of the role include:
- The role requires the application of a combination of strategic and financial analysis, regulatory interpretation, business analysis, operating model and project management techniques.
- You will be expected to have a strong level of knowledge of the regulatory landscape, and be able to help clients understand the interplay between various regulations (e.g. Basel 3, CRD IV, EMIR, MiFID II, Dodd-Frank etc.)
- You will have deep knowledge of at least one of the following risk areas: funding liquidity, capital management stress testing, derivatives, trading and market risk, counterparty credit risk, CVA clearing, retail / corporate credit risk.
- You will understand the fundamental economics of bank business models and be able to articulate the strategic challenges arising from market and regulatory change.
- You will have strong consulting experience and will be able to lead small teams of client and Baringa personnel.
- You will be expected to build strong relationships with clients and to generate consulting opportunities.
- You will have the desire to develop our dynamic company, design new propositions, grow our business and help to maintain our culture.
- Engagements are performed at the client’s place of business, and will require you to be honest, flexible, adaptable and passionate about their business.
Skills Experience:
The role requires a highly motivated, confident individual with a high degree of competency in a consulting environment. Particular requirements include:
- Degree at graduate or undergraduate level.
- Risk and Regulatory consulting experience gained at a Big-4 (or similar) consultancy, ideally augmented with some experience in a strategy or change role in a major investment bank.
- Strong Risk or Regulatory subject matter and market knowledge is necessary.
- Experience in leading teams of 4 or more people.
- Experience managing project financials including budgeting and invoicing.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Experience in some or all of the below is desirable:
- Definition / implementation of regulatory change programmes
- Design of risk architecture and target operating model
- Definition of risk appetite framework
- Gap analysis of regulatory compliance
- Implementation of new risk management policies, processes and systems
- Business process analysis and/or IT systems delivery, including management experience in all stages of the systems project lifecycle.

- GARP FRM (Financial Risk Manager)
- PRMIA PRM (Professional Risk Manager)
- MCT / AMCT (Assoc. Corporate Treasurers)
- CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst)
