The Team
The CommInsure business operates in accordance with its Risk Management Strategy (RMS), which is the centrepiece of the Risk Management Framework (RMF). Whilst the business is responsible for managing its risks, the Wealth Risk Management CommInsure (WRMCI) team is the custodian of the framework and assists the business to implement the framework to fulfil its obligations under the RMS.
The Role
This role supports the CommInsure strategy by assisting the Life and General Insurance business of CommInsure with the implementation and continuous improvement of a risk management and compliance framework that supports optimal risk / returndecisions, within its risk appetite.
In addition, the role provides the business with confidence to operate and grow within appropriate governance requirements.
Main Duties
- Delivery of a centralised, competent and efficient Risk Management Framework that enables the WRMCI Service Team to apply risk and compliance methodologies that are progressive and meet professional standards.
- Drive enterprise wide analysis to support operational risk reporting which is insightful and demonstrates a depth of understanding of the risk drivers in the business.
- Support and enhancing a risk / return culture across CommInsure.
- Support the delivery of WRMCI objectives that relate to (risk compliance) framework reviews, and or framework enhancements.
- Working collaboratively with Wealth Risk Management Teams to facilitate the implementation of the risk infrastructure within the CommInsure business.
- Be a recognised trusted advisor to key customers.
Experience Required
- Demonstrated competencies in design, implementation and monitoring of risk management frameworks including the following framework components:
- Risk Management Strategies (RMS) and Risk Appetite Statements (RAS),
- Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA),
- Enterprise Risk Assessment,
- Control Testing,
- Key Risk Indicators (KRIs),
- Risk Reporting, and
- Compliance plans.
- Working knowledge of financial services laws and regulations, with some exposure to insurance (life or general) industry of advantage but not essential.
- Strong interpersonal competencies particularly in relation to influence and negotiation, and written and oral communication
- Proven skills in managing relationships with clients, working to deliver outcomes which meet expectations and responding to the needs of the business.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Working knowledge of IBM/OpenPages Operational Risk Management tool (or similar).
