Manager, Securitisation

The London office of the Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME) is seeking a qualified candidate to serve in a full-time professional capacity as a Manager within the Securitisation Division. This position is offered on a 12 month contract basis with a possible extension for a further 12 months and affords the candidate an opportunity to work closely with senior individuals at leading investment banks, in the European markets, to help shape policy and rebuild securitisation markets in the most challenging financial environment in a generation. It is an opportunity to work at the cutting edge of regulatory and market developments whilst still keeping in close contact with business developments.

On behalf of our member firms, AFME’s Securitisation Division (formerly the European Securitisation Forum) analyses, communicates and responds to proposed regulations affecting securitisation. The Division has regular, frequent and constructive dialogue with legislators, policymakers, central banks and other interlocutors across the EU, particularly in Brussels and London, but also at the FSB/Basel level and IOSCO. Securitisation has a key role to play in providing funding to restore growth in Europe, and much of our work comprises making the case for balanced, evidence-based regulation that addresses the shortcomings of the past while supporting a new, re-shaped securitisation market for the future.

The Securitisation Division is governed by the Securitisation Board, whose members comprise senior bankers responsible for securitisation businesses at member firms. Its day to day work is undertaken through theme-based working groups, focusing for example on risk retention, regulatory capital issues and disclosure / loan-level data requirements (among other topics).

The succesful candidate will represent member firms by monitoring, analysing, assisting and responding to new and existing regulations affecting securitisation, will manage meetings of the Securitisation Division Board and working groups and will be responsible for the collection, analysis and publication of key securitisation market data for AFME’s Securitisation Data Report.
