Mission
The position holder sets standards for, and monitors the provision of, high quality Internal Audit services within RBC Dexia, provides project management leadership / execution and ensures that relevant stakeholders receive complete and accurate reporting on a timely basis.
Primary Responsabilities:
- Leads Internal Audit projects in coordination with the Chief Internal Auditor and Directors;
- Manages Quality Assurance (Quality Assurance and Improvement Programme, Quality Assurance Reviews, Self Assessments and External Quality Assurance Process) for the Internal Audit Group;
- Responsible for internal and external reporting (Audit Committees, Boards, Regulators, Parents, External Auditors, GEC Members, KPIs) to relevant stakeholders;
- Defines and tracks Internal Audit Service Level Agreements with relevant entities;
- Manages the relationship with External Auditors;
- Definition and update of Internal Audit methodologies in compliance with Institute of Internal Auditors standards (leveraging parental support); and
- Defines and co-ordinates training plans and CPE tracking for all staff.

- Directs the management of Internal Audit projects.
- Ensures the performance of Quality Assurance Reviews is of the highest standard.
- Ensures up to date knowledge of Internal Audit methodology.
- Directs the preparation of IA Audit Committee and Boards/Shadow Boards of Directors documents.
- Directs development/enhancement of Internal Audi KPIs.
Impact and Influence
- Communicates effectively and efficiently with the Internal Audit Group and all stakeholders including External Auditors and parties involved in the IA projects.
- Regularly issues timely, credible and substantive Quality Assurance reports.
- Regularly prepares IA Audit Committees and Boards/Shadow Boards documents for CIA’s review.
- Regularly issues timely Internal Audit KPIs.

- Ensures Quality Assurance reviews are executed in a cost-effective way.
- Ensures Quality Assurance reviews are conducted with the minimum of business disruption.
- Ensures IA Audit Committees and Boards/Shadow Boards documents are standardized and automated as much as possible.
- Ensures IA KPIs are automated and prepared in a cost effective manner.

- Cooperates with Internal Audit Directors to manage Internal Audit projects.
- Leads by example in promoting teamwork across the RBC Dexia audit group;
- Takes initiative in identifying and undertaking tasks impacting the RBC Dexia audit group’s performance.

Authorities
- Recommends Quality Assurance reports and ratings to CIA;
- Executes IA projects jointly with CIA and other Directors, when applicable;
- Signing authority as per delegation of authorities
Education/Business Experiense
- Minimum 10 years relevant business experience, including minimum of 6 years internal/external audit, essential.
- Literacy in both English and French essential.
- Literacy in other European languages highly desirable.
- Accountancy qualification (e.g. CA/CPA) highly preferred.
- Audit qualification (e.g. CIA/CISA/CFSA) highly preferred/essential.
- IIA Quality Assurance training essential [when QAR is implemented – this element of the role is currently on hold]
