Manager, Software Quality Assurance – Wireless Hub – AlertMe Smart Home Area Network

Position Location: Oakland, CA

Overview:

·         This role is instrumental in ensuring that all of the software applications that are a part of AlertMe’s platform inter-operate seamlessly.

·         Work with a small team in a startup environment in our SF Bay area office in conjunction with our main office in the UK. You will be given a lot of autonomy and flexibility to design new test procedures, but will be counted on by the team to make sure the quality of our applications are tested and maintained.

·         Determining the best methods to test and qualify our entire solution in a real world-like deployment

·         Benchmarking performance and scalability test

·         Maintaining stability and quality on past and present releases through regression and longevity testing

·         Delivering scheduled releases in a timely fashion

·         Managing replicated customer test labs

·         Maintaining external qualification through our Beta Program

·         Managing a team and building for growth.

·         Participate in design reviews and make recommendations for product improvements.

Requirements:

·         A minimum of 5 + years of experience in software testing / quality assurance

·         Experience managing QA staff

·         Ability to create test cases and test scenarios

·         Demonstrated experience working with test frameworks and automated build environments.

·         Ability to effectively communicate and resolve quality issues with cross functional teams

·         Comfortable working as a hands-on manager engaged in the day to day testing.

·         Ability to read and understand software design specifications.

·         Strong oral and written communication skills.

·         Comfortable with some domestic and international travel

·         A willingness to work on additional tasks and responsibilities that will contribute towards team, department, and company goals.

·         + (Plus) experience with wireless networking products or radio controlled devices
