The Amazon Community team makes Amazon shopping experience much more social and helps customers make confident buying decisions based on customer provided content. This includes such popular features as Customer Reviews, Discussions, Videos and Images as well as Gifting Lists Registries. As QA Manager of Community content and Gifting, you will have the unique opportunity to shape and impact Amazonrsquo;s retail initiatives, our products and strategy. You will be driving testing and release process for large-scale initiatives to help customers create and manage their content and lists, with a direct and visible impact on Amazonrsquo;s core customer experience. We're looking for a QA Manager who is a thought leader on quality and operational excellence and is able to create and implement a strategy driving the quality of our products to a world class level while managing a team of Quality Assurance Engineers and Software Development Engineers focused on test development. In addition to experience with building and leading successful test teams, our target candidate should have a development background to drive quality through both software and process improvements. Considering the complexity and scale of Amazon, the varied types of web pages, features, customer types, browsers, devices and connection speeds, Quality is a hard, fun problem and wersquo;re looking for a leader to help us achieve that goal. Responsibilities: Create the next generation of testing frameworks, release techniques and infrastructure to increase the speed of release cycles and allow for constant high quality product and feature delivery for Amazon sites. Build and manage a quality engineering team to meet the needs of products under development. Mentor junior members of the team in software development and testing methodology. Basic Qualifications BS degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field with 6+ years of experience. Strong development and/or test management experience with a proven track record in building effective teams and experience hiring and retaining QA engineers and developers in test 4+ years of hands-on experience with test planning, test execution and designing, implementing and maintaining high quality test automation. Strong project management skills, preferably with experience in an agile development environment. Great communication skills both in person and in writing, Solid track record for delivery of high quality products. Preferred Qualifications Experience with web applications a plus. Experience working with and managing remote teams a plus.
