Retail Banking Services (RBS) is the public face of CommBank, delivering a seamless banking experience for the future to our 10 million + personal and small business customers. We offer market-leading products and services, supported by some of the best systems and processes.
The team
The Strategy and Business Development team is responsible for facilitating the development of the RBS strategy and progressing key strategic and business development initiatives. It does this by working collaboratively with the RBS Leadership Team and other key stakeholders across the business.
The opportunity
The Manager Strategy and Business Development will facilitate and assist in the development and execution of the RBS strategy, including new growth opportunities, across both our product and distribution businesses. The position is also be responsible for contributing to a range of strategic projects and reviews across RBS.
What will success look like?
- You investigate and identify new growth and value creation opportunities
- You contribute to and lead strategic projects/reviews and recommendations on courses of action
- You provide insight into key market trends and developments in other markets
- You support Product teams on major new product development and Distribution on new channel initiatives
- You collaborate with Group Strategy on projects on behalf of RBS
- You support the preparation of documents for the Retail Bank Leadership Team, the CEO and the Board
What will help you succeed?
- Exceptional strategic thinking and ability to actively contribute to strategic direction at a business and project level
- Experience in strategy work (either consulting or large corporate) is preferred
- A background in financial services, with a solid understanding of the sector
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively at multiple levels in the organisation, including strong influencing and collaboration skills
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to work efficiently and think laterally under time pressure
This opportunity is well suited to an ambitious professional with strategic projects experience working for a top tier consulting firm or large corporate in an Associate or Consultant role. You will be driven, willing to learn, self-motivated and experienced working autonomously on projects
