We are currently looking for Manager, Technical Accounting and External Reporting to work in our Parsippany, NJ office.
Job Summary:
We are seeking and individual with a strong technical accounting background to assist in documenting and resolving accounting and reporting issues and prepare written quarterly accounting updates to advise senior management on proposed accounting standards. This individual would serve as the corporate finance contact person on technical accounting and ad-hoc projects to ensure that accounting and reporting issues are being properly addressed. The individual would also assist in drafting disclosures contained in our SEC filings and complete the review of supporting financial schedules received from the Companys business units to ensure that information received is adequate for current disclosure requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Perform technical accounting research to assist in resolving accounting and reporting issues
- Serve as the corporate finance contact person on technical accounting and ad-hoc projects to ensure that accounting and reporting issues are being properly addressed
- Draft and maintain Corporate Accounting Policies on the Companys finance intranet
- Prepare written quarterly accounting updates to advise senior management on proposed accounting standards
- Assist in the review of supporting financial schedules received from the business units for the 10-Qs and 10-K to ensure that information received is adequate for current disclosure requirements
- Participate in the Sarbanes-Oxley process to ensure that technical accounting guidance is properly disseminated with the accounting staff
- Draft disclosures contained in SEC filings (10-Qs, 10-K, 8-Ks, bond offerings, etc.) to assist in completing SEC documents
- Assist in the review of XBRL tags identified by the Companys external printer to ensure that the appropriate tags are being utilized
- Review board presentations and investor presentations to ensure that historical information included is accurate and complete
- Review earnings releases and conference call transcripts to ensure that information reported to the public is accurate
Qualities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Ability to work well with all levels of management in a collaborative environment
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment
Background:
- CPA required
- 3 to 6 years of Big Four Public Accounting experience required.
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Experience in Microsoft Excel Word required
- Knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management preferred but not required
