The Management Trainee would be responsible for managing the operations of a plasma collection facility, to include financial, marketing, administrative, regulatory, quality, personnel and facilities management functions. Responsible for forecasting and attaining production and cost goals while assuring compliance with company, local and federal regulations for a plasma center producing approximately 40,000 liters per year. Monitoring systems and activities to ensure that source plasma manufacturing is performed consistently according to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), the Baxter Quality System, and other applicable regulations. The Management Trainee program will be for a period of time not to exceed 12 months. After completion of the training program Management Trainee would have an additional 12 months to establish a management position.

* Stays current with federal, state, local and company-specific rules, regulations and practices.
* Ensures center compliance with all federal, state, local and company-specific regulations related to quality of product, employee and donor safety.
* Reviews records to ensure they are complete, accurate and compliant with cGMP requirements.
* Tracks deviations in operating procedures and policies through established mechanisms.
* Tracks responses to and corrective action for exception variances, error and accident reports, and post-donation information reports.
* Analyzes trends and reviews quality data to determine opportunities for continuous improvement. Manages corrective action procedures to ensure timely and effective resolutions.
* In conjunction with Regional Manager and Finance, establishes annual production forecasts and center budget activities, monitoring center performance against budgets to ensure goals are realistic and attainable.
* Implements strategies and allocates resources to meet financial and production Commitments, through marketing, cost containment, efficient utilization of staff, and other means.
* Reveals operational opportunities for continuous improvement, initiating changes to center processes as needed, through the use of company approved procedures.
* Manages, leads and develops talent within the center. Attracts, retains, rewards, and motivates a diverse workforce. Trains, coaches and mentors staff.
* Fosters teamwork. Works collaboratively with staff, peers, and management to achieve business goals. Communicates continuously at all levels of the organization and resolves conflicts proactively.
* Administers compensation program and provides timely feedback to employees through the performance evaluation process and through daily work practices.
* Ensures high levels of customer service and satisfaction. Meets and strives to exceed customer expectations.
* Works in collaboration with Regional Manager and management team to prepare for and host internal and external auditors and to ensure timely response and closure to audit observations.
* Manages the recruitment process for center management and supervisory position, working with the Manager Trainer and Regional Manager for final selection/hiring process. Manages center recruitment processes and work in collaboration with management and supervisor members for center staff selection and hiring.
* Prepares reports and keeps management apprised of center operations and operational issues.
* Organizes and facilitates management meetings, staff meetings and committee meeting to communicate and encourage staff involvement.

* May assist in center production areas as needed.
* May be responsible to support and conduct management training, in addition to other project as assigned by Manager Trainer.
* May participate in the management of projects and new initiatives within the center or across centers.
* Supports the center management team in identifying operational opportunities for continuous improvement, initiating changes to center processes as needed, through use of company approved procedures (including but not limited to 5S, Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen)
Requires ability to stand and walk for entire work shift. Potential exposure to blood borne pathogens. Requires occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching above shoulders and below knees, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Frequent leaning, fine motor coordination. Requires ability to communicate verbally with donors, in person and on the phone. Requires depth perception and vision at all distances. Occasional travel."

Bachelor's degree in a scientific or business discipline or a minimum of three years of supervisory work experience, preferably in a medical or other regulated field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience in plasma center operations is desirable. Effective interpersonal, leadership, organizational, technical and problem solving skills. Ability to attract, retain, motivate, develop, and recognize a team of diverse individuals. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize. Ability to understand, communicate, interpret and apply technical documents and instructions. Aptitude for working with production, financial marketing and other statistical data. Effective written and oral communication and presentation skills. Must be willing to relocate at completion of training program. Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases highly desirable.
