The Permanente Medical Group has an immediate opportunity to join its Business Development Group (BDG). BDG delivers strategic and financial value by identifying and executing on high-impact opportunities that support KP's strategy. This work includes developing, overseeing, and creating demand for a portfolio of profitable services to meet a broad range of health and life care needs for Kaiser Permanente members. Learn more about these services at www.kpelectiveservices.com Essential Functions: - Defines frames complex multi-dimensional strategic management issues develops time tables/processes for decision making - Translates needs, issues, ideas into effective strategies action plans - Coordinates team/project activities schedules - Researches key business issues directs the collecting analyzing of quantitative qualitative data - Synthesizes analysis identifies key findings - Assists in the determination of goals priorities with team, clients, or project management sponsors - Establishes team membership project participant - Develops proposals for clients outlining proposed project structure, approach, work plan - Provides staff leadership to multi-disciplinary project teams, as well as manages work of outside consultants when used - Formulates specific implementation plans evaluates the effectiveness of actions/programs implemented - Communicates results/recommendations to project sponsors - Develops creative alternative solutions - Recommends action steps to team and client - Plans and facilitates meetings - Makes formal presentations to various senior level audiences - Transfers project team knowledge/tools to client - Participates in the development and management of the department, including coaching, recruiting, conducting performance reviews for analysts, and other departmental activities Secondary Functions: - Provides direct contribution to the development, operational improvement, expansion and optimization of business ventures. - Able to conduct work independently as well as on cross-functional teams throughout Northern California - Develops and executes implementation plans for key venture initiatives, provides project management expertise, and evaluates the effectiveness of actions/programs. - Defines scope of work, objectives, deliverables, timeframes with minimal guidance. Oversees development and monitoring of key metrics reports. - Structures and conducts analyses to evaluate and make recommendations regarding venture strategic positioning and operational performance.Business case analyses includes ROI, NPV, cash flow, capital needs, market analysis and penetration, and competitive assessment. - Identifies areas to improve top-line revenue growth, increase efficiencies to strengthen operating margins, and improve overall competitive positioning of ventures. - Writes comprehensive and persuasive documents independently, and presents them to multiple stakeholders. - Develops effectiveness in KP's culture by building credibility with stakeholders, producing well-structured and thoughtful deliverables, and moving forward despite various project challenges. - Acts as a key liaison among multiple stakeholders, including senior leadership, and communicates performance results and business recommendations. Partners effectively with other regional staff and local medical center providers to achieve outcomes. Develops rapport and trust with clinical stakeholders. -Advises on local venture operations, including coordination of local venture staff and activities, and regular communication with venture stakeholders. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - 4 or more years of related analytical /or consulting experience required, healthcare experience preferred - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Health Care Administration, Operations Research, Public Health Administration, or other related field, or equivalent related work experience required - Master's degree preferred - Specific expertise required as specified - Ability to conduct interpret quantitative/qualitative analysis - Advanced computer skills knowledge of data systems - Effective communication, consulting, interpersonal, presentation, project management skills Preferred Qualifications: - MBA/MPH (or equivalent) and 3-5 years of consulting or related experience, preferably in healthcare; OR - Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of progressive experience in consulting, project management and implementation preferably in healthcare. - Proven ability to determine key business issues and develop effective action plans from multi-disciplinary perspectives. Strong analytical ability (including Excel) and attention to detail. Able to solve complex problems and make solid recommendations on potential solutions. - Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to conduct and interpret quantitative and qualitative analyses. Strong results orientation and initiative. - Excellent leadership, project management, and consulting skills. - Excellent written and oral communication skills.
