YOUR ASSIGNMENT

·  Ensure that all co-workers in your area of responsibility understand the IKEA concept and how this impacts on their specific roles.

·  Contribute to delivering your department’s goals set in the store and UK business plans

·  Undertake Duty Manager responsibility on a rota basis with your other management colleagues, and to carry out any other reasonable request asked by the management team.

·  Ensure your team is working in an efficient, lean and simple way in order to maximise the efficiency of the department through a process oriented workflow supported by staff planning.

·  Effectively manage and inspire your team, with particular reference to their selection, training and development in order to ensure you have a competent and well informed team who can meet our customer needs and expectations and have in place a workable and realistic succession plan.

·  Coach your direct reports in order for them to manage their teams in line with the HR Idea. Provide strong leadership to your team by your own example, creating an environment where the IKEA culture is a living reality that embraces the diversity of our co-workers.

YOUR PROFILE
Your knowledge, skills and experience include:

·  significant leadership experience gained within retailing

·  strong analytical skills and the ability to use common sense to make objective decisions based on a sound analysis of the information available.

·  ability to work on tactical and operational levels and supported by a proven record of getting things done.

·  ability to work through others effectively, set priorities, delegate responsibility and give open and honest feedback.

·  the necessary interpersonal skills to explain goals and their purpose clearly to others.
