Managing Director, Head of APAC Audit recruitment
The Managing Director – Head of APAC Audit will be responsible for all aspects of Audit’s assurance and advisory activities in the Asia-Pacific region. He/she will own the Audit relationship with the regional executive management team and will be an active participant on APAC Operating and Risk Management governance committees. The successful candidate will be a member of the Global Audit Senior Leadership Team and will report directly to the Global Head of Audit in New York. This position will be located in Hong Kong or Singapore and some travel will be required, approximating 20-30%
The ideal candidate will have an audit background, but have since moved onto a more business focussing role. We are particularly interested in those with experience in Sales Trading, or as a COO/Business Manager. Experience with Asian markets is also a plus.
Responsibilities
As a member of Audit’s Senior Leadership Team, the Managing Director – Head of APAC Audit will play a leading role in setting strategy and direction for the global audit team as well as contribute to the continued development of Audit’s global risk assessment, planning and execution processes. He/she will be the senior Audit executive in the region and will interact extensively with regional executive management, local regulators and other senior level third parties
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Build, develop and manage a high performing APAC Audit team
- Overall accountability for planning and execution of assurance and advisory reviews in the region
- Recruit and develop a high performing team that will be a training ground for talent; Develop a comprehensive talent acquisition, development and coaching strategy
- Identify key control issues and emerging risks; work with regional management to ensure timely and effective remediation
- Prepare and present periodic audit, issue and emerging risk updates to regional executive management and key regulatory bodies
- Collaborate with the other corporate risk and control functions to ensure activities are coordinated
- Effectively manage resources to optimize productivity, meet training and development needs, and deliver high quality, value added assurance and advisory services
Requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, economics, risk management or other business related field is preferred
- The successful candidate should have at least fifteen years of progressively responsible leadership experience in investment/asset management, risk or control roles; Exposure/experience with audit, risk and compliance activities is preferred
- Strong project management, organizational skills and presentation skills
- Experience managing teams of skilled professionals
- Excellent communication (verbal, written, and listening) and interpersonal skills; Strong writing skills, particularly as related to audit reports and management presentations
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with executive management and external regulators
- CFA, CPA/CA, CRM or similar professional certification is a plus
