We are currently seeking a Risk Management Analytics to join our Analytic Solutions, Services and Solutions Team in Beijing, China.



POSITION OVERVIEW:


MSCI offers an extensive range of risk and portfolio management products, from ASP and desktop systems to enterprise-level applications.  MSCI maintains a group of implementation professionals who specialize in the implementation, customization and support of these applications for large organizations requiring pro-active and intermediate to long-term assistance from MSCI.  The challenge is to fully integrate these MSCI Risk products into client’s investment processes. Each project is highly visible within MSCI as well as within the client’s organization; therefore, the demands on this role will be high, and he / she should be able to prioritize demands quickly and work well under pressure.



RESPONSIBLITIES:


The primary responsibility of this role will be the hands-on involvement in the implementation followed by ongoing support of MSCI’s Multi-Asset Class Risk Management system, BarraOne.  Day-to-day responsibilities will include writing technical specifications for systems integration and explaining the risk analytics embedded in the systems, working on development and testing of data loading / extraction interfaces, deployment, and the troubleshooting of client-reported issues.  Secondarily, an implementation consultant is expected to provide ongoing feedback to the product development organization in terms of communicating feature requirements that are aligned with the overall product roadmap. This entails managing information across a number of parties such as the Application Product Managers, Engineering and the Sales organization.  

Additional responsibilities involve acting as an Engagement Manager to support business development and project management of the client engagement.  

The position will be based in Beijing and may involve 10% or more travel to client sites throughout the Asian region. 

 


DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates will possess an analytical Bachelors degree (Computer Science) coupled with Finance skills.

1-2 years experience within the financial sector is expected, preferably in a client-facing role, as is knowledge of capital markets and finance theory.   

Preferably demonstrate an understanding of the business principles driving a firm’s use of risk management systems and to be able to identify and act on how MSCI Risk products can add value to a client’s investment data workflow.
