JOB TITLE: INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER OR INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN - METHODS AND STANDARDS – Process Improvement

 

        a. TIME STUDIES:

 

        (1)  Performs a physical time study using a stop watch time study board.

 

        (2)  Enters data into an Excel time study spreadsheet.

 

(3)  Prepares production documentation in the Operation Data Sheet detailing the method, tooling, and cutting parameters observed during the time study.

 

(4)  Fills out the Standard Data in CAPP sheet to correctly reflect the Set-up Standard and the Unit Standard.

 

    b. TROUBLESHOOTING AND NEW PLAN PROVE-OUT:

 

(1)  Troubleshoots various manufacturing problems involving process, method, tooling, programming, or fixturing and coordinates the solution with the appropriate personnel.

 

        (2)  Recommends tooling cutting parameters as needed.

 

        (3)  Recommends the purchase of new tooling as needed.

 

    c. HMS CAPP PLAN REVIEW:

 

(1)  Reviews each operation to ensure the correct Machine Group Codes, Unit Standards, Set-Up Standards, Type Standards, and Standard Measuring Equipment are all included in the shop order.
