Manufacturing Area Manager Job ID: 2012-16641 # of Positions: 1 Internal Title: Manufacturing Area Manager Position Type: Regular Full Time Category: Manufacturing Location: US-SC-Blythewood Travel: Up To 25% Overview: * Plan, develop, implement and coordinate programs and procedures with management team to ensure the timely execution of production schedules and delivery of a quality product at or below the targeted cost. This will include development of challenging initial budgets and productivity goals, required tools to measure these, and interaction as required to correct deviations. * Work with staff support departments to provide required facilities and equipment and the development and implementation of process and quality procedures and measurement tools that will continually improve process capability in order to provide a product which will represent the best value for the customer s dollars. * Develop and maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment that is conducive to productivity and high morale. This includes an area safety program based on the belief that injuries are preventable and including education, awareness, documented procedures, and detection and correction of hazards. * Optimize machine uptime and employee productivity. * Provide formal plan to ensure development and training of area personnel that will allow flexibility of movement, management succession, and expansion of skills in all functions. * Maintain high levels of productivity and morale through implementation of team and Deming concepts. When necessary counsel, advise supervisors in administering discipline where required in conformance to plant practices, company policies, and contractual obligations and regulations. Position Purpose and Requirements: To plan, organize, lead and coordinate the activities of the Manufacturing Area. In addition, interact with staff support areas to procure all resources that are required to manufacture a quality product at the targeted cost. These will include equipment repair and preventative maintenance; material control engineering; cost accounting, etc. Strive to develop processes that will lead to continuous improvement of manufacturing, product quality, machine uptime, safety, housekeeping, cost per unit and customer/employee satisfaction.
