SUMMARY: A process engineer develops economical industrial processes to make the huge range of products.
The work is concerned with mechanical processes in which raw materials undergo change, and involves scaling up processes from the laboratory into the processing plant.
Responsibilities involve designing equipment, understanding the reactions taking place, installing control systems, and starting, running and upgrading the processes. Environmental protection and health and safety aspects are also significant concerns
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to implement process changes in a production environment.
- Presentation skills to advise management of plans and results.
- Develop new processes that benefit product quality and productivity.
- Design, implementation and analysis of experiments to solve production problems.
- Evaluate part quality as it relates to specific processes.
- Work with suppliers to establish purchasing specifications and control of incoming materials.
Required Skills:
REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant and proficient technical expertise to succeed in the role (electrical, mechanical, process, etc)
- Prefer Financial understanding and communication skills. Knowledge of the relevant industries associated with supply base.
- Strong negotiation skills
- Prefer understanding and experience with integrated manufacturing software systems, i.e. ERP, MRP
- Solid written and oral communications skills
- Ability to understanding and experience with integrated manufacturing and software systems (MRP, ERP etc)
- Good organizational, time management, and analytical skills
- Willingness and ability to travel both domestic and internationally
Required Experience:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or engineering depending on the job assignment. Previous sourcing, supplier management/negotiation, cost and process engineering, and 6 Sigma/lean preferred.
- 0 to 2 years experience
