TFPP is currently hiring a Manufacturing Engineer in our office located in Dallas area. The Mechanical Engineer will improve operator safety, manufacturing processes, quality and productivity by working with a cross functional team of Operators, Supervisors, Maintenance, Material Control and Management. Activities will include: Process optimization, rapid response to breakdowns, setup improvements, defining improving maintenance procedures, and capital expenditures to upgrade or implementing new processes.
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the designing, developing and maintaining fire suppression products. Communicate and interact with Approval Agencies. Lead projects by coordinating efforts of technicians, designers, manufacturing, and marketing personnel. Perform Engineering duties.
Your responsiblities will be:
All phases of assigned engineering project(s) to ensuring the successful project completion within an appropriate time and at budgeted cost.
Develop, evaluate, document and improve manufacturing methods and processes through LEAN techniques and Kaizen events.
Evaluate and implement opportunities for reductions in methods and processes.
Conceive, investigate, evaluate and make recommendations for new equipment, tooling, new or improve methods/processes, improved utilization of existing equipment, facilities and manufacturing techniques.
Writes Capital Expenditure Requests, equipment performance specifications, action plans, responsibility lists, weekly project reports, work instructions, test procedures and other documentation to support factory operations.
Provides cost analysis, process flow diagrams, site layouts and technical briefs.
Manages and/or participants in Health, Safety, Environmental, Production, Material Control, 6 Sigma and RD project teams.
The position does require traveling to our Vidor office.
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor Degree of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Manufacturing Engineer Technology or equivalent.
1-3 years of manufacturing related experience in metal fabrication, spot welding, MIG sub arc welding, metal forming, CNC machining painting, leak testing, filling liquids and powders or manual assembly processes.
Knowledge of pick and place units, robots and vision system and programming languages.
Knowledge of CNC's lathes and tooling.
Knowledge of 6 Sigma DMAIC and Lean techniques.
Management of breakdowns, process problems, maintenance repairs and capital projects.
Knowledge of PLC ladder logic, MMI's servos, AC variable speed drives, motors, couplings, pneumatics, hydraulics, solenoid valves, index tables and conveyor systems.
Experienced in setting up complex excel spread sheets.
Ability to analyze cost data and calculate savings.
Highly developed mechanical aptitude.
Capital project management and equipment installation.
Root Cause Analysis techniques and Six Sigma methodologies.
AutoCAD, (Solid Works), Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Interpersonal skills for participating in cross functional teams to resolve problems.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate employees as well as have strong organizational skills.
Ability to solve problems quickly in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
