The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the following functions, including (but not limited to):
- Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods.
- Analyzes and plans work-force utilization, space requirements and workflow
- Designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Works with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Work with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workplace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer.
- Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
- Communicate with management and user personnel to develop production and design standards.
- Provide support in QS/TS efforts.
- Work with all departments on process changes and capability studies.
- Support prototype builds and data collection and reporting of builds
Candidates should have the following qualifications and/or experience:
§ High school graduate or GED.
- At least 4 years experience in automotive quality.
- Good organizational and record keeping skills.
- Computer literacy with emphasis in: AutoCad, Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with all levels of organizational staff and customers: negotiating, problem solving, training, etc.
- Knowledge and experience with TS16949.
- Self motivated with good attendance.
