The Manufacturing Engineer performs engineering/technical assignments using manufacturing engineering practices and principles; designs and implements manufacturing methods, processes and equipment that support product quality and quantity goals and objectives. The successful candidate will be directly involved in process creation, improvement, documentation and training.
Specifically, the Manufacturing Engineer:
- Provides engineering support by troubleshooting problems and effecting timely solutions to maintain the continuity and profitability of production flow.
- Designs manufacturing processes, equipment and tooling for existing and new products within schedule and budgetary parameters.
- Monitors and debugs new methods and procedures to ensure productivity efficiencies and quality requirements.
- Prepares design concept drawings and cost estimates.
- Reviews and recommends changes to mechanical drawings and process documentation.
- Interfaces with other departments to address and resolve issues.
- Interfaces with vendors and appropriate personnel to evaluate, cost estimate, and select purchased parts.
- Keeps current with manufacturing technology and equipment, and investigates their potential applications. Recommends incorporation of new technology for company applications where feasible and practical.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with one to three years' related manufacturing experience, AutoCad/Solidworks experience; machine design and tooling design experience; mechanical and electrical assembly experience; process documentation experience.
- Knowledge of mechanical principles, electrical/mechanical layout, machining practices, equipment integration and strong computer skills
- Effective verbal/written communication, interpersonal, training, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion
- Ability to achieve win/win outcomes
- Ability to develop project plans and complete on time on budget
