Skills and Responsibilities
· Experience in the processes for machining precision metal parts, with a high level understanding of various machine capabilities, tooling selection, part presentation and holding, as well as fixture design and build for quoting purposes.
· Must be able to work with employees at all levels of the organization, from the president to the production operators.
· Must be able to work well with customers from a technical perspective, to be able to identify and anticipate their needs, document all requirements and communicate that back through the organization.
· Able to work under the pressure of tight timelines, short lead-times and must be able to juggle many projects at the same time.
· Must be able to coach the work of skilled machinists in accomplishing the required engineering tasks.
· Must be a creative thinker with a slant toward process improvement and waste elimination within the engineering process.
· Must have effective written as well as oral communication skills.
· Able to manage multiple projects with a disciplined project management approach and be able to make and honor commitments for completion of project tasks within the various project timelines.
· MS Project experience is a plus.
· Experience in managing new product launches and product changes with a structured ECN methodology.
