Description:
•Implement strong working knowledge of Space flight/Military Airborne/High Reliability application PCA level hardware design, workmanship, processes, and assembly.
•Demonstrate ability to develop new surface mount assembly processes; i.e., BGA/CCGA assembly, leaded solder joint analysis and leaded high reliability soldering applications, in conjunction with outside suppliers.
•Excellent communication and comprehension skills are required, both verbal and written.
•Strong ability to implement program plan direction with minimal supervision.
• Function effectively as manufacturing process engineer and coordinator for program hardware builds.
• Actively participates in producibility peer review and analysis of hardware designs, documentation, procedures.
• Evaluates engineering documentation for best manufacturability and practices.
• Recommend/evaluate/approve proposed fabrication, assembly and calibration vendors.
• Provides vendor, outsource manufacturing support which includes qualifying vendor(s) for manufacturing, problem solving, material disposition, etc.
• Prepare manufacturing estimates, including purchased parts, machine shop, mechanical inspection, mechanical/electrical assembly, electrical inspection, electrical test, manufacturing support, and quality process support costs.
• Develops and implements processes and process improvements and documents these processes for release under configuration control.
• Develops Shop Order routings for internal Integration and testing efforts utilizing automated system.
• Initiates and completes change order processes when necessary.
• Lead, coordinate and conduct Manufacturing Readiness Reviews to internal team and customers.
• Travel is required.

Qualifications:
Education/Equivalent Training Required
BS/BA, engineering degree or equivalent experience (See “Experience)

Experience
•5 + years experience in a manufacturing process development and support environment (internal and outside)
•Knowledgeable and practiced in Printed Circuit Assembly practices, including advanced Surface Mount Methods, practices and processes
•Knowledgeable in sub-assembly, cable, unit (box) manufacturing designs, practices and processes
•Knowledgeable in metal fabrication designs, material platings, adhesives and bonding practices and processes
