Position Duties

·   Responsible for all aspects of DCP correlation to gages for targets and tolerances.

·   Maintain (and be familiar with) related core DCP documents

·   Maintain/Update Tool Sheets that are separate from the Process Sheets.

·   Develop repair—and/or regress—procedures and programs.

·   Address concerns for print changes to product.

·   Support new equipment studies. (I.E. capability, safety sign off, PPAP on new equipment.)

·   Support cost studies.

·   Assist Product Engineering with problem-solving Prototype trial studies. (I.E. 8-D)

·   Develop improvement plans for process. (E.G. quality, cycle-time, machine up-time)

·   Conduct Process Reviews and conduct "Fresh Eyes" reviews.

·   Directly support team in preparation for and during the annual QS and ISO audits.

·   Responsible for PPAP and MTCs for production parts and process changes. (I.E. number part print(s); update documents for production and layout; execute functional run off.)

·   Do Risk Assessments for RSIR out-of-print conditions.

·   Assist Production and Quality teams with trouble-shooting and problem-resolution of manufacturing quality concerns—if systematic process recurrence.

·   Acquire appropriate Gage equipment.

·   Assist the Layout and Gage Repair teams with trouble-shooting and problem-resolution of gages failing routine inspection called "yellow dot" gages and masters.

·   Know and utilize any and all plant systems. (MPACT, Minitab, CPARS, WERS, WEBDCP Q-DOS etc.)

·   Conduct tool testing with data collection and analysis for cost savings/quality improvements.

·   Continually pursue TVM cost savings.

·   Perform error-proofing of machines and processes.

·   Develop MEARS Projects for new or upgraded equipment purchases.

·   Update machine drawings with process changes or improvements to DMS.

·   Initiate 1295 and 1296 change requests.

·   Support Neighborhood Watch, Quality, and Product meetings as required.

·   Support Skill Trades in correcting recurring machine issues and with long-term improvement projects.

·   Help Maintenance and Production teams with trouble-shooting causes of machine downtime and problem resolution as requested/required in extenuating and critical situations.

·   Initiate clear and specific work-orders for non-standard needs from the Van Dyke Tool Room—including any special instructions as necessary.

·   Support Finance in conducting Annual Asset Audits for accounting purposes.

·   Directly line up outside "resources" and facilitate PSW with the plant when we need to outsource production for whatever non-standard situation requires it. (Temporary Outsourcing.)

·   Review/Upkeep ECPL placards—updates, corrections, general changes, etc. Coordinate with Controls Engineers.

·   Support QRE to generate WERS alerts for production non-conformance issues.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor of Science Required Major: Engineering-Industrial, Engineering-Mechanical
