The Turbine Module Center designs, manufactures and services turbine blades and vanes for the hottest and fastest turbines in the world.
The Turbine Module Center is responsible for the production and coating of turbine airfoils for commercial and military programs, including the GTF and F135. We enable unsurpassed military and commercial program performance by leading high impact ACE teams in the optimization of flexible and lean manufacturing cells.
The Turbine Module Center Aluminide Coatings Unit is seeking a Coatings Engineer to continue its efforts in providing high quality, high value HPT blades. Aluminide Coatings is made up of two departments Turbo Tip (electroplating process) and Vapor Coat (diffusion coatings).
This position reports directly to the Technical Manager and you will become part of a highly focused team in a high tech, fast moving and challenging environment. TMC Mfg. Engineers cover a variety of manufacturing processes ranging from machining, laser drilling, laser welding, electrical discharge machining, advanced coatings, and automated inspection techniques; specifically:
-Manufacturing process development, standardization and certification which may involve ordering and validating new tooling, writing or modifying NC programs, or specifying and purchasing new capital equipment.
-New process/part introduction, and incorporation of engineering changes
-Determine layout for manufacturing cells in support of new capital introduction and lean mfg. principals
-Day-to-day production support of complex manufacturing processes.
-Act as a the point of contact for Engineering (IPT) and Manufacturing
-Identify and develop justification for cost reduction projects
The Turbine Module Center is currently transitioning into new product lines supporting our Joint Strike Fighter and Geared Turbofan programs meaning that the challenges and opportunities are boundless. A significant portion of the job assignment will be to continue to drive process improvements and innovations that reduce cost through productivity and quality improvements. Demonstrated success using ACE tools and lean mfg. methodologies is a must.
Candidates must be able to work well in a team environment as this position requires daily interaction with Engineers, Operators, Inspectors, Cell leaders, Business Unit Managers and the MTS organization. Candidate must also be self directed at times and have the ability to work independently

B.S. degree in Engineering or Manuf Eng'g required.
B.S. degree with 6+ years of related experience or M.S. degree with 4+ years of related experience
-Highly motivated individual who enjoys operating in a dynamic environment and who enjoys the challenges of process improvement
-Success working in a high energy and fast paced manufacturing environment with the ability to adapt to changing business conditions.
-Must be team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels of management.
-Ability to plan projects and to use written/verbal/analytical/org skills to influence business objectives.
-Strong communication skills required: ability to present concepts, obtain information and work with cross-functional teams, excellent oral and written skills, ability to communicate clearly and concisely
-Candidates should be highly self directed and able to learn quickly with a strong ability to drive and deliver results
