Position Summary:
The Engineering Manager is responsible for managing, planning, assigning, controlling, specifying, all engineering requirements essential to meet the customer requirements and ITI specifications in manufacturing. Ability to define, justify and procure machinery, equipment, and tooling. Define best practices and methods to processes and obtain high quality products at optimum cost.
Duties Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):
1. Select, train and supervise engineering personnel necessary to accomplish established objectives.
2. Assume principal responsibility for technical discussions and review with major accounts. Maintain personal contact with key personnel at these customer sites. Direct product development by working closely with the customer.
3. Develop and maintain long term planning for technical improvements and new product/process developments in conjunction with marketing plans.
4. Specify processing for all products. Develop and improve manufacturing processes. Design or specify and procure necessary machinery, equipment, tools and fixtures for all products to be manufactured. Establish cost effective production standards for all manufacturing processes while insuring inventory levels are maintained.
5. Responsible for prompt resolution of technical concerns internal and external. As required attend on site reviews at the customer to aid in product evaluation and problem resolution. To insure high quality products are manufactured using latest methodology and metrology techniques.
6. Compile and submit annual budget proposals for capital equipment acquisitions. Prepare and submit cost justifications for budgeted equipment including HVAC, Air and Power. Control and monitor these expenditures.
7. Provide Marketing with manufacturing cost estimates as necessary.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
B.B.A. Degree in Mechanical Engineer or Physical Sciences. Minimum of 10 years experience in Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering and a minimum of 3 years experience in Engineering Management. In-depth knowledge of materials, processes and techniques with close tolerances machining in a metal removal manufacturing environment. Through knowledge of statistical techniques and analysis following Six Sigma, Lean Sigma methodologies along with Quality Principles, Policies Practices. Good Communication skills. High competency level with oral and written communication. Ability to motivate and effectively communicate at all levels of the organization. Ability to manage multi-tasking projects with a variety of manufacturing influences worldwide. Must be able to travel as required.
