Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor Job in Melbourne, Florida US
We are seeking a Supervisor that has a minimum of 10 years of related experience working in manufacturing engineering in aircraft production. Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in a team lead or supervisor role.
Description: Supervises and manages the Manufacturing Engineering and Production Planning departments responsible for providing technical leadership and support to the assembly team in the assembly, testing, painting, and delivery of aircraft.
Responsibilities: Supervises the planning and establishing of engineering schedules and following up performance against estimates. Create assembly process planning, provide support to production activities and coordinate implementation of product changes, improvement projects and preventive / corrective actions. Design and develop manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes and related fixtures and tooling that are consistent with zero defect level and low product cost. Provides engineering support for troubleshooting and resolving technical problems in production line coordinating the necessary actions with relevant areas. Analyzes manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput. Oversees and approves the creation and implementation procedures required to assemble and test products. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulatory requirements. Provides guidance to production team and quality regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Develops and implement technical training for the Manufacturing Engineers and Production Planners. Contacts with vendors in determining product specifications and arranging equipment, parts, or material purchase, and evaluating products according to quality standards and specifications. Oversee the successful implementation of major projects and programs for the corporation and organization from a manufacturing engineering perspective. Must be proficient with MES, MS Office, and other computer software tools for developing reports and supervising the department. Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed. Manage the tooling and tools assigned to production. Interact with customers and customer support personnel.
