Position Description

Manages employees and first-level managers performing activities within multiple manufacturing disciplines. Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals and objectives. Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers.

Auburn Tooling Services (ATS) provides design, development and manufacture of tooling for Fabrication MBUs in the Puget Sound as well as Tooling engineering and consultancy for Fabrication in general. ATS works in close collaboration with the external suppliers and provides tooling solutions for both traditional tooling needs and developmental composite manufacturing. ATS is tasked with critical, high-risk, and proprietary tooling work statements, characterized by complexity, timing, or a combination of the two.

The Auburn Tooling Services Manufacturing leader position will report to the Tooling MBU leader but is accountable to collaborate and partner with both Tool Engineering leader and Tooling Operations leader supporting seamless integration and teaming. You will be responsible to lead first line manufacturing managers, factory operations consisting of Tool Makers, Tool Die, Machinists, Welders and associated skills that fabricate, construct, and maintain tooling.
