Sherwin-Williams is seeking a goal-oriented, hands-on Production Operations Manager to join our leadership team at our Rockford, Illinois Powder Coating Manufacturing Plant DSC. The purpose is to provide top quality end products through efficient management of staff, materials and equipment while maintaining safety conscious objectives for the operation.
Job Description:
· This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating the manufacturing and shipping activities through the team leaders of our 24/7 operation to fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements, and deliver powder coating paint products to our customers in a timely fashion without sacrificing profitability to the company.
· He/she will be responsible for directing and driving continuous improvement in safety, housekeeping, productivity, cost, customer service, quality, and employee engagement.
· This position will be accountable for achieving established plant goals relative to the focus areas of Operational Excellence -- Safety, Service, People, Quality and Cost.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and abilities:
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in technical or business field
· Five years of manufacturing managerial experience in a continuous improvement environment
· Powder coating experience
· An interest to work in an active "roll up your sleeves" type of environment
